The History of Trinity United Mthodist Church

Trinity’s life began in 1917 when our present building, then called First Methodist Church, was dedicated—even though there had been a major fire right after the construction was completed in 1914. The Lord smiled on the new congregation and it quickly became an important part of the community of Huntington. In the 1960’s, after the merger between the Methodist Church and Evangelical United Brethren Church, the name was changed to Trinity United Methodist Church. Since then we have made several improvements—lighting the dome in the sanctuary in 1979 and the west addition was completed in 1981. He is still smiling on us!
